I'm growing increasingly excited for the upcoming weekend of nuptials (and more importantly, the open bar at such event) and concert festival goings (where there is not an open bar, but Oasis + Stereophonics + Paul Weller makes up for that), making it horribly difficult to keep myself focused on the current mundane tasks at hand...I'm mostly referring to work here for the record. It doesn't help that this weird and awful allergy sickness is kind of lingering around me. Ugh.
That being said, nothing - and I truly mean nothing - would be able stop me from going to Day 2 of this year's Virgin Festival. I don't really care how lame it is considered by indie music purists to love Oasis. They were my first true music love and will probably remain so until I kick the bucket and, while I'm more than willing to admit that the past couple of albums haven't been up to par, Definitely Maybe and Be Here Now in a sense defined my youth and opened up a whole world to me which, at that point in my little bubble of a suburban life, I hadn't known existed. This will be my fourth time having seen the band in action but my first time seeing them in a festival setting which, if you know anything about the band, is kind of their forte. And, while V-Fest is no Knebworth circa 1996, I certainly still expect it to be entirely mega.
Onwards and upwards. I am currently infatuated with this thrifted pleather skirt. I have a feeling it's only going to become more useful in the autumn and winter months, and am absolutely dying to pair it with opaque black tights and thin knit cashmere sweaters and the like. In the meantime it's still awesome though because really, can you ever really go wrong with black [p]leather garments? It's eternally badass, so personally I think not.

ReplyDeletei've said it before and i'll say it again i'm REALLY jealous of your future attendance at that festival. that is such a killer line up. i would looove to see oasis. i have this adorable video of pete doherty out the front of a cd store at the age of about 16, not famous or anything, just waiting to buy a copy of the new cd. it's really random.
all in all screw those pretentious indie kids :) you rock out to oasis and make sure you get photos and give me the rundown next week.
