Don't You Evah...

Yet another sweltering day in the city.

I've been in an American Apparel-ish mood lately (meaning I've been wanting to wear loose white t-shirts pretty much all the time - G has had to stop me from going to work like this more than I'd like to admit to), regardless of the fact that I actually don't own a single article of anything from there. There is a legitimate reason for my AA avoidance: I loathe even looking at the spandex-clad, indier-than-thou salespeople, nevermind being forced into awkward communication with them. These people are very much the reason why I hate Toronto's nightlife scene. I'm so sick of the absurdity of a 'scene' at all to be quite honest, but the AA salespeople scene which seemingly dominates this city is by far the most obnoxious and insufferable.

Now that my rant is complete, I will admit that I have been lusting over these skirts (above) for months, as well as some AA superfine jersey racerbacks. It's not that I wouldn't purchase these items elsewhere - G has continually suggested Chinatown and I have continuously searched there, albeit to no avail. But I have a thing for wardrobe basics - as per yesterday's Outfit Du Jour post re: easy dressing, and it's high time for me to get some new ones. Resistance is futile.

  1. haha...totally agree!! I remember going into the AA on Queen 10 in before closig and I got the dirtiest looks! One of the guys even had the balls to tel lme the more I chit chat..(i.e. ask about their hours/closing etc)..the less time I have to shop! Man, talk about customer service...two thumbs DOWN...shop online! Thats what I do

  3. Anon,
I agree, but I do exclude the Maritimes from that. People from out east are generally nicer I've found.
But I suppose I will have to go to an AA in another country to find out :)

  4. i completely agree. i went to the AA by eaton's centre recently-- and i totally get what you mean by the the forced communication with the uber-indie children.
i sucked it up and bought the skirt (the black nylon one i bought in a jersey material). it's tres cute.
I've been to the AA in LA--- it's as bad... probably even worse than the Toronto stores.
