Most of my finds yesterday were quite autumnal (Burberry trench, vampiric widow blouse, plaid everything) but because I am a highly impatient person I will definitely, definitely not be waiting until September to indulge in them...case in point: today's ensemble.
I absolutely cannot resist this Gap dress. In a crowded Goodwill filled with Toscaninni lovers and dudes who I believe time-warped from 1982 for the sole purpose of creeping me out, this dress and I locked eyes and instantly knew that we would never leave each other's closets/bodies again. While the outfit du jour may seem very "Gossip Girl", it is actually inspired by Serena Van Der Woodsen's far superior predecessor: Cher Horowitz of the definitive generational cinematic masterpiece of 1995, "Clueless". Check it out...
Mind you I have yet to find a plaid skirt suit as cool as the ones Cher and Dionne totally rocked in the opening scene, but in my opinion there is certainly an awesomely comparable vibe between this picture of C and D and the following picture of G and I.
Dress: Gap (thrifted)
Shoes: Juicy Couture
Bag: vintage Ralph Lauren
Hairband: somewhere in Chinatown...
P.S. Let me know what you think of the new banner which G lovingly crafted for Modern Guilt (which is now a .com as well as a blogspot! If for any reason you have something against typing .blogspot into your address bar, http://www.modern-guilt.com/ will do just fine!)
