Standing on the Shoulder of Giants...giant shoes, that is.

I saw this post on Come Thrifting With Me literally ten minutes ago and immediately fell in ridiculous, infatuation/love with the boots. They remind me of the Marc by Marc Jacobs suede ankle boots of last year and figure skates; the MJs I wanted but could not afford at the time, and the figure skates I do possess, but they are: a) highly impractical as streetwear and b) long since abandoned, as I got older and stopped considering figure skating to be a viable profession somewhere along the line.

Five minutes after seeing Come Thrifting With Me's post, these beauties are on their way to me:

Of course the black pair is sold out in every size except for 10. Speaking of which, what is it with size 10 getting all of the good shoes that are discounted? Yesterday on my pretend-I-have-money-to-spend-and-tell-the-salespeople-I-just-don't-particularly-like-anything-when-really-I-am-broke-as-shit excursion to Holt Renfrew, the one pair of Chloe strappy shoe boots left on the sale rack was in a size 10, and they were actually reasonably affordable! For a few moments I seriously considered trying them on, but luckily saved myself from that embarassment by resigning myself to the fact that having the most common shoe size (7) frequently sucks.

That being said, I am highly satisfied with the white. And, if at any point I change my mind, there's an amazing shoe repair guy I know who would maybe, possibly be capable of dying/painting them.
Yay for internet impulsivity.

  1. I think Cutesygirl.com has them for like $30 or less.

  2. OMG!!- I have these boots saved in my Ebay favourites. I want to get them sooo badly but can't imagine actually wearing them. Check "Cutesyshoes" on ebay.
