At the same time, one must remind oneself that there is always dissatisfaction to be found in life if one is looking for it. For example, G and I recently watched a brilliant documentary called Rich Kids, and through exploring the incomprehensible wealth of young heirs and heiresses around the world, the filmmaker discovered that such individuals were by and large far less happy than their middle-class, 'ordinary' counterparts because, well, if you don't have to work to have everything then why work to have anything?
This isn't to say that I would say no to a billion dollars or stop shopping forever, because that would quite obviously be contrary to my very nature; it's merely to provide a new perspective on exactly what it is about shopping and obtaining that satisfies me, and if that's even of real value to my life?Enough with the heavy stuff. In other news, I have decided to couple my better judgement with everyone's advice and not tan...depending on exactly how pale I get (y'all haven't seen me in the winter yet) I may use my trusty Jergens Glow stuff at some point, but in the meantime it's kind of the opposite of a concern for me. What is a concern for me, however, is the fact that Toronto finally hit a minus temperature...with the 'wind chill', naturally. Ah, how I loathe hearing 'wind chill' again.

OH I know exactly how you feel about not having enough things to wear. It seems like I am always buying things but then I never have any clothes. How is this possible?
ReplyDeleteI really don't think you have this problem too much though, because you are always wearing heaps of wildly amazing clothes.
Like right now!
I know what you mean! I have tonnes of clothes, but never have anything to wear. It's ridiculous when you think about it...
ReplyDeleteYou look great! As always :)
Hey S! I love this outfit, it's so effortlessly cool! those too jackets layered on are amazing. I have the same problem about shopping, and whenever I realize something, I obsess about it and do all I can to get it, soon! Ahh, it's my biggest vice. I'm TRYING to control it and it's so hard ;)

I love the jacket!
ReplyDeleteMy, what a pretty girl you are. Good style too.
ReplyDeleteThis "never enough new items" is so dangerous.... this is why I have been running away from shopping at the mall and prefering thrifting sprees.... You can get unique pieces and for some reason they satisfy me more...
Can I add you to my blogroll?
I was just reading about this phenomenon in social psych. lol but its definitely true. I always have that 'nothing to wear' feeling :( You look gorgeous here as usual.

ReplyDeleteReally cute outfit - and I'm SO glad you've decided to not tan...now that is not a good look! Porcelain is so much sexier.
ReplyDeleteWanna trade links? Cx
I love this ouftit.. so cute and cozy.
ReplyDeleteI think about my shopping addiction almost everyday...I start my day, with an espresso and by checking my fav. online stores for their new arrivals ... and buy if I like something ... CRAZY - i know. When it comes to wealth...I've never believe that money make people happy...Personally, my parents pay for most of my things...but I still can't justify all of the overspending. I should make a post on this ... because I have quite a serious problem - i should find myself a shrink that specializes in shopaholics :)
i always have new things i want...its neverending greed and i hate it! i'm never satisfied with what i have.
